Fifa are banning fans from singing Brexit songs during the England v Belgium world cup fixture. Whether it is an attempt to make Europeans like us or just good manners I couldn't say but I would be grateful to receive the words and music of any Brexit ditty.
As I sit at my piano trying to compose one of my own I am left thinking whatever happened to the comedy song? Classics like 'dont jump of the roof dad, my boomerang won't come back or right said Fred' are never, if ever heard any more. Was it the demise of Childrens Favourites or the Wheeltappers and Shunters club or is it that the likes of Terry Scott or Bernard Cribbins just ain't cool any more?
Whatever the reason there should be a remastered compilation album, out in time for Christmas which would be an ideal gift for our teenage grandchildren to sing along and share with their friends.
Which ones were your favorites? We could be on to a nice little earner. :)

There ya go, not brilliant but it's a start.

But fret not OW, no doubt FIFA are being put under pressure from the Brussels Sprouts in their on going attempt to convince us that we're all just like them and shouldn't leave. Of course, what they've missed is the British sense of humour which they don't understand at all, so up lads and at 'em, sing your hearts out and F*** FIFA and the lot of 'em.

Now this is what happens when you let old people have too much spare time: they create mischief.
Gotta love 'em for that.

I'm not sure if BREXIT songs rate as comedy rather than politics.
I stumbled on the Billy Bragg example and found it insightful for several reasons.

I knew what to expect of Bragg and wasn't disappointed, the old 'all Brexit voters are racist' line (while denying it of course). Of course it wouldn't occur to him that criticising us all for supposed prejudice against foreigners he's doing the same against us, stereotyping all old people as racists. What a tosser!

Actually GG, I've just had a great idea. Move APEC in the same direction as the EU with it's own parliament (advisory only), foreign policy, law making Commission, court of justice and all the other trappings of a superstate with all member states subject to it's authority, an annual payment of around £13 billion (whatever that is in Aussie dollars), and more than 60% of all Australian laws made by APEC un-elected bureaucrats, APEC headquarters in whichever is the smallest country (Papua New Guinea perhaps, or Vietnam), all citizens of APEC having the right to live in Australia. Oh, and protectionist tariffs imposed by APEC on all goods from outside the block, including the UK, Europe etc. And there you have it, your own EU, and if you don't like it you can't object because that would be racist. Ask Billy Bragg.

Not a song but I found it comical:

WHY DO THE NORWEGIAN NAVY HAVE BARCODES ON THE SIDE OF THIER SHIPS?

SO THAT, WHEN THE SHIPS RETURN TO PORT, THEY CAN SCANDINAVIAN!

It's too hot for intelligent posts.

And why does the modern Spanish navy have glass bottomed ships?
So they can see the old Spanish navy.
