What an amazing man. They know about him all over the world and the apparent visit to Cheltenham and mural on a vacant wall, is enough to attract TV and newspaper hacks in their hundreds. And the people. There is now a severe traffic problem around the site as thousands of locals stop their cars to get a look. You can't buy publicity like that.

It says a lot about Society, but I'm not sure what.

Well, a few ideas for starters......

People love someone who's smart enough to two-finger the Establishment, legally and with skill --- a global celebrity who doesn't have to show his (or her?) face, or advertise Chanel and underwear --- a commentator with a novel and wickedly witty way of pricking topical balloons or pointing up the world's weird ways --- a mystery man who might show up anywhere, just like Superman --- a genuinely talented street-artist who's not cashing in his chips in the usual and obvious greedy way.

In sum, it tells us humankind hasn't changed much. Romance (fullest sense) has appealed since the Epic of Gilgamesh, and probably a lot longer.

So, given the recommendation, is someone going to tell me who Banky is?

This makes me angry for some reason http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-27057745 On this occasion I'm strangely inclined to side with the council (never thought I'd write that about any local authority). What say you?

Finders, keepers is a principle more in keeping with primary-school ethics.
For groan-ups, there is a law called "larceny by finding", namely, under the "nine points of the law"- oft quoted - the tenth point is THE RIGHT. Without that, it's NOT YOURS!

I tried, and found his website. Sadly, I struck an (almost) blank wall.

I don't have a problem with the art popping up in a few places. I do have a problem with those silly 'tags' of graffiti. I am intrigued to view the new work in Cheltenham - if it hasn't been painted over again by Mr Grumpy-Boots.

Banksy is always referred to as "he". As the individual has not been publicly identified, it could be that Banksy is a woman!

Well done Rev! A few days ago, I was watching Sky News, and a lawyer specialising in fine art, and who claimed to represent Bansky, said his/her real identity is not known! If she was telling porkies, Banksy should get himself another legal beagle asap!

How many of them are done on/to men?
Can you refer me to a YouTube educational clip?

A truck driver was heading interstate and saw an attractive woman at the roadside, thumbing a lift.
He stopped, opened the passenger door and invited her to join him.
"Before I do", she said, "I should warn you that I'm a witch."
"Oh, really? How so?"
"I can turn men into things."
Feeling skeptical, he welcomed her in.

Some time later, as they approached the edge of the next town, she began stroking his thigh.
He immediately turned into a motel.
