Came across this by accident whist looking around Project Gutenberg = 1902 poems by a guy called Holman F Day about a farmer in Maine who seems to share an outlook with certain people in Cumbria!

Just put Project Gutenberg Pine Tree Ballads into Google and enjoy. they are about 'Uman Nature' the one titled 'Pine Tree Ballads' is about the farmer, haven't had time to read the rest yet.

Discrimination, again! How about all the non-pines that are perhaps pining for equal recognition?
Does it being a soft wood make it a soft target?

Wooden you know it! Irony in a rural composition.
